Trade Compliance Webinar Series:
Session 3: Cargo Security—ACE, ISF and CTPAT

PAEI, George R. Tuttle Law Offices and BPE are pleased to announce a webinar series on U.S. Customs’ trade compliance and security programs. These programs are intended to provide an introduction to and foundation for further understanding of each subject.  Each session will review critical import or export topics, and help you navigate through these complex regulatory requirements.

Session Three: Trade Security
Wednesday, October 7, 2009 (10 AM – 12 PM)

Our third session will address critical issues related to cargo visibility and security in the supply chain, focusing on:

  • CBP’s Automated Commercial Interface (ACE) —What is it, and how can it help you manage your supply chain.  ACE is a free tool available to all importers.  We’ll take you through the benefits of acquiring an ACE Portal Account, how to establish Periodic Monthly Statement filing and utilizing ACE reports to access your import information.

  • Import Security Filing.  CBP’s new mandatory filing program is only 5 months away! Are you ready?  Importers are liable for incorrect filings and penalties are high. Many companies have indicated they are still not ready.  We’ll cover what you need to know, strategies for successful information gathering and how to audit your filings.

  • C-TPAT is a voluntary, importer Cargo Security program; learn about program benefits and assessing whether the program right for you. Customs Regulatory Audit Teams now have added a cargo security module to their importer audit program. Learn about this important program and don’t be caught unaware!

Our guest speaker: Beth Peterson is the President of BPE (www.bpeglobal.com). BPE enables companies to succeed globally through consulting and training. Ms. Peterson is a licensed customs broker and a Trade Ambassador for CBP’s ACE program. She has over 21 years of experience in the logistics and international transportation business.

You may sign up for one, two or all three of these programs. Registration will close at 4 pm the day before each session.
