CBP Issues Guidance on Section 232 Duties on
Semiconductors and Their Derivative Products

January 15, 2026

In a Proclamation, dated January 14, 2026, President Trump, citing national security concerns, imposed a 25% tariff on imports of certain semiconductors and their derivative products. CBP has issued guidance in CSMS # 67400472 for importers, brokers and filers on submitting entries of these products. The new duties went into effect on semiconductors and their derivative products entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouses for consumption, on or after 12:01 am ET on January 15, 2026.

CSMS #67400472 provides a detailed listing by tariff of the semiconductors that are subject to the 25% tariff under section 232 and those products which are not. We encourage importers, brokers and filers to review this message to understand the impact of the Proclamation on their imports.
